This 37 m² apartment was designed for a young couple looking for a compact yet expressive urban home with an open-plan layout. The main challenge was to combine a sleeping area, kitchen, lounge, and a dedicated workspace for a partner who works from home, while still preserving a sense of comfort, privacy, and a more mature, characterful atmosphere. Their cat also played a role in the design, calling for extra thought around materials, open surfaces, and the overall organisation of the space.

The interior is built around the contrast between a warm, richly layered main living area and a lighter, more graphic bathroom. Dark wood, textured walls, deep brown tones, vintage references, and soft warm lighting create a space that feels grounded and distinctive. Red and yellow accents introduce energy and personality, giving the apartment a more vivid and individual rhythm.

The layout is organised through light zoning: an open shelving divider separates the sleeping area without blocking light or air, while the kitchen, dining corner, workspace, and lounge read as one continuous composition. The result is a compact, functional, and atmospheric apartment with character, yet without feeling visually overloaded.
